Known as "The Gateway To The Valley," Sherman Oaks is located north of Beverly Hills by the 405 freeway and the 101 interchange. The community is best known as the home of the Sherman Oaks Galleria, considered by many to be the undisputed residence of the Valley Girl, a cultural label popularized by the song and 1983 movie of the same name. Despite the image that has been portrayed, Sherman Oaks is home to some 50,000+ residents who find the community a great place.
