Tarzana is a located east of Woodland Hills and west of Encino in the San Fernando Valley. Tarzana has approximately 40,000+ residents. Edgar Burroughs, author of Tarzan books, first applied the name to the 550 acre ranch he bought in 1919. In 1927, the 300 residents of the surrounding community held a contest and chose the name Tarzana for this rural place of berry farms and chicken ranches.
